Powerful LinkedIn Strategy (Shortened)

Please remember that you are reading this because

  1. You want to increase sales in your business, or
  2. 2. You want to get potential clients using your LinkedIn account

Below this text is the flow of the game plan or the marketing automation plan that most knowledgeable LinkedIn users do in LinkedIn.

Your summary>Send Invitation>Thank You Message> Status Updates>Coffee Meeting (8)>Follow up CM (2)

Okay. I know this seems not very self-explanatory. Please read explanation below.

Your Summary

It is very important that you set this up first, in a way that you can get the attention of your clients/customers.

Note: Just like an employer reads a resume, you will only have a chance of 6 seconds for you to catch the attention of your potential clients/customers.

If you are not able to set this up very well, you can’t have them.

Send Invitation

In sending invitation, you should not use the default message that LinkedIn has provided for you.

Thank You Message

When the new contact finally responds to your request for connection, you have to send a thank you message.

I’ve got my scripts for that. It;s pretty simple and it’s one of the responsible things to do. It may help you look more professional as well.

Status Update

Once you’ve connected. you’ll have to do status updates. It’s like what you do in Facebook. You do FB posts about the things you do.

Coffee Meeting

After posting regular updates for a certain period of time, you should set up a coffee meeting.

In doing this, you should send a message inviting the client to have a coffee meeting with you. It can be physical meeting in Starbucks or any cafe near your location, but you can also set a schedule for a Skype chat or Google hangout if meeting each other personally is impossible for you to do because of distance.

Follow Up Message

Two weeks after sending the message about the coffee meeting, if you don’t get a response, then you’ll send a follow up message regarding the coffee meeting.

So this is what my group call the game behind the game of what you should do in LinkedIn and how you should connect with customers.

Going back to how important the summary is…

I am giving emphasis on this because every time you send an invitation, thank you message, coffee meeting or post status updates, the potential client/customer will go straight to the summary. If they life what they see, then you have a potential client/customer.

It’s as simple as that.
